Radiation physicists/dosimetrists are specially trained in the measurement and application of the radiation beam for medical treatment. The radiation physicists/dosimetrists work with the radiation oncologist during the planning and delivery stages of treatment to ensure that treatments are properly tailored to each patient's individual needs. By using sophisticated computer technology, they precisely calculate the appropriate dosage of radiation for each individual patient's needs and plan the treatments.
