Proton Therapy Coming to NJ/NY Area
Princeton Radiation Oncology has teamed up with ProCure and CentraState Healthcare System in developing the first proton therapy center in New Jersey and the metro-New York area. The center will be located in Somerset, New Jersey, about a half-hour's drive from midtown Manhattan. ProCure a leader in the development of world-class proton therapy centers and CentraState Healthcare System is a non-profit community health organization serving the great state of New Jersey. Financing for the center is complete and plans have been approved by the Franklin Township zoning board. The proton center is scheduled to break ground in the spring of 2010 and begin treating patients with cancer in early 2012.
